To support the cultural exchange visit by 35 young musicians from the Xiamen Youth and Children’s Palace to the Sunshine Coast in late July local organizers have had a strange request. How to find a Chinese Horizontal style zither here on the Sunshine Coast? Yes, our young Chinese musicians are desperate to find a local version of the Chinese instrument to allow them to perform their local Chinese folk music here in Australia. But where to find such a rare and valuable instrument on the Sunshine Coast ? Organisers are still scratching their heads. So if anyone knows the whereabouts of such an instrument could you please contact the Sunshine Coast Sister Cities via our contacts page. It would make our young Chinese maestros very happy.
